After viewing the castle on Montjuic, I visited some of the other tourist attractions on the hill, including the old Olympic facilities.
Barcelona hosted the 1992 Summer Olympics, and unlike many cities, they still use the stadiums and facilities they constructed for the event.
The hill also has a museum of Catalan art with a gorgeous series of fountains leading up to it.
The lowermost fountain has a lights, music and water spraying spectacular every night. Since it was the Fourth of July, I had a Disney-themed substitue for fireworks. This person on YouTube has an extremely overproduced video of the show, but hopefully you get the idea:
To complete my Fourth of July Celebration, I drank Budweiser, ate a McDonald's cheeseburger, and cheered on the Columbian soccer team with my friends in an Irish pub. Overall, a pretty reasonable tribute to our country for an expat.
